Level 3 - Advanced

Creating Stores -

Creating a store on Amazon will solidify your brands presence and give your customers a chance to see the story behind your brand as well as the ability for them to check out your other products.

To create a store you will need;

- To have a professional seller account

- To enrol your brand into Amazon brand registry

- Lifestyle photos of your products

- A header image for your store

Enrol in Amazon Brand Registry;

Lifestyle photos

Your store should include lifestyle photos of your products, Lifestyle product photography is a great way to develop your brand identity and elevate the look and feel of your Amazon store.

Simply put, lifestyle product photography is more interesting than standard white background product photography, which’s purpose is to show what your product looks like.

An example below;

Your photography and branding should be intrinsically linked to not only show the product & functionality but to express your brand’s character.

Optimise your Store for mobile

Consumers are spending more and more time on their mobile devices and this is fuelling the growth in mobile retail. Mobile has changed the way people shop. In the first quarter of 2020, two-thirds of Store visits were made from a mobile device.1

With such a large number of shoppers using mobile devices to access your Store, it makes sense to prioritise a mobile-friendly design.

Lesson 2 - A+ Content / Enhanced brand content

Customise your product detail pages with A+ Content

Once your brand is approved for Amazon Brand Registry, it’s time for the fun stuff. Brand Registry unlocks free tools that help you manage your brand products behind the scenes and manage your brand story as it appears for customers shopping the Amazon store.

With A+ Content and Stores, you can build a beautiful brand experience on Amazon. A+ Content enhances your product listings, and Stores allows you to create a multi-page shopping experience within the Amazon store.

Some examples

Benefits to using A+ content;

Increased conversion

Modules can be used to address customer pain points or answer product related questions before they’re even asked

Brand awareness

The added space on your products detail page can be used to tell your brands story which will give your customers a closer relation to your brand

Decreased product returns

The most common reason for returns is inaccurate or incomplete product information, with A+ content you have the ability to inform shoppers and empower their buying decisions.

Increased product visibility

Given the fact that A+ content will improve conversion rates, this will affect the Amazon algorithm which relies heavily on conversion rates therefore giving you more exposure.

Where to begin ?

Start by selecting the best products and the ones with high page traffic

Lesson 3 - Global marketplaces

Once you have your marketplace as maxed out as possible and you have the experience of importing you will want to lol at some other marketplaces to advertise your products & brand.

It is actually quite a simple process to begin, just log into the marketplace you want to be on & repeat the steps laid out in Level 1

You will now have access on your seller central app to the global marketplaces you’ve signed up to.

Once your account is set up, then you can select the products you want to add to the selected marketplace, I would advise you do some research into the hot selling products in that marketplace (no good sending winter jackets to the UAE)

I strongly recommend you send some units as a test to the new marketplace, if you send units that cannot be sold it will only harm your IPI score and it will be costly to have them destroyed.

Your best bet would be to either;

Have your supplier send multiple cartons of 4/5 product lines on one pallet to the new marketplace as this will be most cost effective, alternatively you can send your own pallet of cartons to the new marketplace.

From this you will be given new data on what is doing well & what will need tweaking but once you have it, that’s another big stream of revenue to your business
.

And the best part, your not even in that country !

Lesson 4 -Becoming a Supplier

Now the part where you can become a serious player, that will attract the attention of the investors

Amazon is a great platform to make a lot of autonomous money with a small investment and few obstacles. However, if you choose the private label route you will now have a factory, a protected trademark and a proven sales track record from your success on Amazon

Create a website for your brand let’s call the brand Amahu (Amazon Hustlers University) You now have a site called Amahu aimed at wholesalers, meaning other businesses will sell your products, you will supply them in pallets directly (or a dropship model if you prefer).

Now you may be asking, ‘how do I sell my products retail, if I’m only aimed at wholesalers, they won’t want to compete with their suppliers’

And that is very true, so you will create a separate site that is geared towards selling your products to retail customers as if you were a buyer yourself.

You can use other competitor suppliers to list their products on your site to capture all business you can get, I would advocate a dropshipping model for this.

Now you have an example of another company to give to buyers on who you supply to (little do they know the store is owned by you

This model works particularly well for B2B items as their is a continuous demand for those products.

Now that you have Amahu set up & aimed at wholesale buyers you can then market yourself to the big players, the best way to do this is compile a list - you can use a method called ‘Web scraping’ which will give you many contacts to email/call

The first ones you call should be the worst to best, meaning you call the worse ones first so that your salesperson has a lot of experience & familiarity with any objections that may arise from the better ones as you move down the list, make sense ?

Your only goal will be to have yourself added as a supplier, you may come up against some objections, here are some;

Do you have any sales proof or data ?

A. Yes, we are currently No.4 best seller on Amazon - here is all sales sheets We are not looking to buy any more stock at the moment

A. ‘No problem, would you like to add us as a dropship supplier? (refer back to MCF) once you have the sale, we send the item to your customer direct’ How much profit can we expect to make ? Of course this is up to you, my suggestion would be;

A. We can offer you 100% mark up, so we sell to you for 50, you sell for 100 (this is a generous mark up for them) What platforms can we sell on ? (Again, up to you - my suggestion)

A. You can operate on any platform you like, but on Amazon, you will be competing with other suppliers (which is you but don’t directly tell them) for the buy box

These are the most common objections you will come up against but after making some calls you will notice a pattern.
